Wouldn’t it be amazing if you had a way to ask your body a question that required a “yes” or a “no” response? How would it change your life to be able to feel a “truth” or a “lie” physically or see it when you shut your eyes?

Learning and mastering the skill of muscle testing and working to uncover the knowledge, delivered through the neurological feedback loop from the body and our consciousness, can profoundly guide decision-making and life choices for anyone. It is also an incredible tool to assess, with confidence, the nutritional needs of yourself or clients.

Here at Edison Institute of Nutrition, we offer a number of holistic nutritionist CEU programs to help you maintain your certification and continue growing professionally.

This includes the Introduction to Muscle Testing course.

What Is Muscle Testing?

Muscle testing first received scientific attention in the 1960’s. It was pioneered by Dr George Joseph Goodheart, Jr., D.C. He called this specialty Applied Kinesiology.

In the late 1970’s, Dr. John Diamond refined this work into a new discipline called behavioural kinesiology. He also found muscles would strengthen and weaken in the presence of positive and negative emotional, intellectual, and physical stimuli.

Today this method is used by many practitioners as a functional diagnosis tool, sometimes in conjunction with other tests.

Muscle testing is a form of biofeedback used in clinical practice where the practitioner applies pressure to the forearm of the patient or client to determine if the muscle is responsive. A strong response is seen as a “yes”, a weak response as a “no”.

We can use the muscle response to find out where imbalances are in the body. It is a great way for the body to tell us where the problem originates via muscle strength or weakness.

The body turns muscles on and off constantly. This allows us to move, speak, digest food, circulate blood, and breathe oxygen. This is basically the language of the central nervous system.

Imbalances in the body include:

  • Weight concerns
  • Digestive disorders
  • Memory issues
  • Mood disorders
  • Sleep issues
  • Surrogate Testing
  • Chronic illnesses
  • Allergies, intolerances, and sensitivities
  • Belief issues
  • And more

For example, to use muscle testing to test for food intolerances, a practitioner may place a vial with a trace amount of the food on the belly button area known as the central meridian.

The practitioner will then apply a light pressure to the outstretched forearm muscle, with one hand on their shoulder to stabilize the arm.

If your arm remains strong, there is no issue with that food. But if the food is a problem, your arm will become weak or unable to withstand the pressure.

The human body knows what is wrong but, unfortunately, it cannot send you an email, definitively identifying the core problem.

You may experience unpleasant symptoms after eating but are unable to recognize the connection to a food that you have recently consumed or to an emotional situation that occurred during the meal. These situations will weaken the body, in particular the muscles, and this can be indicated through muscle testing.

The muscle test indicated to Dr George Goodheart that, at a level far below conceptual consciousness, the body “knew” and, through muscle testing, was able to signal what was good or what was harmful.

This is how the central nervous system responds to something that is “negative” for the body. Any weakness you see on the muscle test is caused by the central nervous system answering the question “Is this food good for me?” It can only answer “yes” or “no”, “on” or “off.”

Often clients will ask “how do I know if this is right for me”? By using muscle testing, a properly trained practitioner can access an enormous amount of information about the client that is unavailable through other means. Once you have experienced an involuntary weakness during a muscle test, there is little room for doubt that the body is trying to tell you something.

Muscle testing can even be used to help access mind/body thoughts regarding decisions related to careers, schooling, or relationships. The neuromuscular response can indicate the presence of old emotions or stuck psychic trauma in the body; for example, precisely where they are being held and whether the body gives us permission to release them.

How healing it would be to have a simple technique that could show you, a friend, or a client, deeply buried beliefs that are sabotaging wellness and/or happiness.

Imagine the possibility of using muscle testing as a means of clearing negative subconscious beliefs, freeing the mind of negative thoughts, and allowing the physical and emotional healing to take place.

In this course, participants can learn to self-muscle test or test others to find out if they will (or will not) benefit from certain supplements, foods, or even relationships. Muscle testing can help answer a variety of health-related questions.

You can also use a surrogate to test children, the elderly, and pets.

A trained muscle testing practitioner can access a tremendous amount of information about their clients that are not available through other means.

After completing the Introduction to Muscle Testing course at EIN, a school for holistic nutritionists, you will be able to utilize this technique and will receive a certificate of completion.

The Introduction to Muscle Testing course is offered through a self-paced online webinar, which you can view at your leisure. You will gain a better understanding of what muscle testing is and how you can use it to better serve your clients.

You will learn how to use this technique to test for:

  • Vitamin and mineral deficiencies
  • Weaknesses in glands and organs
  • Strengths in glands and organs
  • Exploring false beliefs and inner truths
  • Surrogate Testing
  • Developing more effective nutritional plans
  • Building cleansing protocols or exercise plans
  • Creating greater mind body connections
  • Food allergies and intolerances
  • Testing from a distance

Muscle Testing FAQs

Who is eligible for the Introduction to Muscle Testing Course?

If you are a graduate of EIN’s Diploma in Holistic Nutrition program, or a similar program from another accredited institution, you will find this course beneficial.

This program is open to anyone with an interest in learning this technique. It is suitable for healthcare practitioners and the general public. Even children can be taught to use this technique.

Does the person that is being tested need to be present in the room?

No, they do not. Distance testing is possible by either using a surrogate (person in the room) or by the practitioner using their own muscle test and the power of intention to connect with the truth for the person being tested.

How long is the webinar and how many times can I watch it?

The webinar is 3.5 hours in length and can be viewed as often as desired during the 90-day access.

Is there anything that can interfere with accuracy?

Yes, watches, EMF technologies, and even another person close by within hearing distance. Interference could indicate the person is not ready to be tested at that time.

Does the tester need to do something for themselves before testing another person?

It is important to be grounded, present and have intention to uncover the truth. Methods for achieving this will be taught in the course.
